Assistant DA Charged With Domestic Assault

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- An assistant district attorney general for the 19th Judicial District has been charged with domestic assault.

Chris Wayne Dotson was arrested Tuesday night following an incident that happened over the weekend.

A log from a 911 call on Saturday showed that Dotson's stepdaughter called police claiming he was hitting her mother. The mother told the dispatcher she was OK, but was told officers may still respond.

The 45-year-old Dotson, who prosecutes drunken driving cases, was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
