UNION CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- A northwest Tennessee man has been killed in an overnight house fire.
Authorities say 44-year-old Jeff Montgomery of Troy was killed early this morning when fire burned the home he shared with his mother.
Troy Police Chief James Cleek says other people in the home were able to escape the flames, which were discovered just before 1 a.m. Firefighters found Montgomery's body.
Authorities are investigating how Montgomery died and what caused the fire.
The house was destroyed.
