MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A 14-year-old boy has been charged with aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon after a teenager was shot on a playground near an elementary school in Memphis.
Neighbors told WMC-TV that the shooting victim, also 14, was playing with two others on Sunday when the gun accidentally discharged and struck him in the side. He is listed in critical condition.
The names of the teens have not been released.
The incident happened near Evans Elementary.
