Woman arrested after running off from Knoxville Police

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, a woman on the run from police was caught.

Knoxville Police say Kristy Rogers was taken into custody on Mineral Springs near North Broadway.

Knoxville Police are trying to find a possibly armed woman on the run near North Broadway.

Just after 10:00 on Saturday morning an officer stopped a black Mitsubishi Montero in the parking lot of Buddy’s BBQ on Broadway.

The officer briefly spoke with occupants of the vehicle and returned to his parol car when passenger, Kristy McCoy Rogers fled from the vehicle toward a nearby heavily wooded area.

Additional officers responded to help with the search for Rogers, but officers have not located her at this time.

Rogers is a white woman, approximately 5’ 08” and 175 pounds with very short or shaved blond hair. She has an outstanding violation of probation warrant on file with the bond denied.

A witness reported seeing the suspect possibly armed with a handgun. Additional charges are pending.
