Auto parts plant headed to N. Mississippi

SENATOBIA, Miss. (AP) -- An automotive parts supplier will build a $40 million plant in northern Mississippi to manufacture stamped and welded steel parts for Toyota vehicles.

PK USA is a Shelbyville, Ind.-based subsidiary of the Japanese companies Press Kogyo Co. Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. Ltd.

It's billed as the primary supplier of metal body parts, chassis parts and plastic injection parts to the U.S. automotive industry.

The new plant in Senatobia, about 35 miles south of Memphis, Tenn., is expected to have 150 to 200 employees by 2010, when Toyota opens a new assembly plant.
