1 hurt, 5 arrested at Nashville high school

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a thrown water balloon started a fight during lunch that sent one student to a hospital.

Five other students were arrested after the melee at Hunters Lane High School on Friday.

WSMV-TV reported seven or eight people went after the student who threw the balloon, kicking and beating him.

A school resource officer used pepper spray as he intervened, and more than a dozen officers were sent to the school to restore order.
