MARION, Ark. (AP) -- Arkansas State Police say two construction workers were killed on Interstate 55 when a pickup swerved into their lane and struck them.
A preliminary report says 34-year-old James Rains of Marion and 55-year-old Marshall Turner of Memphis, Tenn., were killed Tuesday night when they were working in a closed lane on I-55 in Marion.
According to state police, 44-year-old George Walker of Beechpark, Ill., swerved into the closed lane and struck the two men and an asphalt truck.
Walker was injured in the collision along with his passenger, 43-year-old Nicole Johnson of Crystal Lake, Ill. Both were taken to The Med in Memphis.
