LAVERGNE, Tenn. (AP) -- The westbound lanes of Interstate 24 have been shut down in Rutherford County after multiple vehicle crashes.
Helicopter video shown on WTVF-TV in Nashville showed two crashes near each other near Walden Road in La Vergne.
The highway carries a high volume with through-traffic in addition to commuter traffic headed into Nashville.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the crashes were reported at 6 a.m. near mile marker 65.
