JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Officials at Washington County's animal shelter say two women stole a Yorkie by putting it in a purse and walking out.
The Yorkie's theft on Friday was caught on tape, but officials believe the women also stole a Chihuahua mix named Masie.
Shelter director Debbie Dobbs told the Johnson City Press one woman appeared to be in her 50s and the other in her 20s. They had two toddlers and a baby with them.
Dobbs said Masie was a stray and was only about 6 months old.
The Yorkie was an older dog that had been turned over by her owner and was not in the shelter long enough to get a name.
There is a reward for information leading to the return of the dogs.
