MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Memphis have charged two men in the fatal shooting of two others.
A police spokeswoman said investigators charged 22-year-old Jackie Spears with first-degree murder and 24-year-old Kelcie Stewart with attempted first-degree murder.
Police on the way to a shooting call early Sunday saw a speeding car that then crashed. Two people jumped out and tried to run. Police say one was Stewart, who had been shot. He threw down a gun and was arrested.
At the shooting scene, police found a 22-year-old man lying in a driveway, dead. A 21-year-old man had also been shot and was taken to a hospital. Police then learned another 22-year-old man had been driven to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victims were not immediately identified.
