MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A West Tennessee man has died after his car hit a horse that wandered into its path.
Investigators said 48-year-old Dorsey Bailey of Millington was killed Monday when his vehicle hit the animal near an intersection.
The impact killed the horse and sent Bailey's car out of control into a field. Bailey, the only person in the car, was declared dead at the scene.
Officials told WMC-TV that deputies had received calls about two horses and a donkey running loose in the area just moments before the crash.
