VERONA, Ky. (AP) -- Police say a Tennessee man pulled over for failing to use his turn signal on a Kentucky highway was arrested on three old warrants, one dating to 1971.
A spokesman for the Boone County sheriff's office says 59-year-old Sammie Pickens of Memphis, Tenn., was pulled over Monday after a deputy spotted him switch lanes on Interstate 71.
Sheriff spokesman Tom Scheben says the deputy learned Pickens had a warrant for his arrest from Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
Scheben says Pickens was arrested on a January, 1971, housebreaking and larceny charge; a March, 1972, charge of carrying a concealed deadly weapon and a 1990 charge of failure to appear related to the 1971 housebreaking charge.
He says Pickens is being held in the Boone County Detention Center awaiting extradition to Ohio.
