MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A task-force investigation into illegal gun and drug sales has led to the arrest of two men at a Memphis motel.
Members of the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force made the arrests Tuesday after an undercover agent reported buying a .380-caliber handgun in a room at a Ramada Inn motel in east Memphis.
Authorities say 27-year-old Adam Richard Benson of Memphis and 35-year-old Jeffrey Brian Cole of Nesbit, Miss., were arrested on gun and drug charges.
Task force members say they also seized several grams of methamphetamine, equipment for making the illegal drug and a .45-caliber pistol.
Authorities say the investigation that led them to the motel is ongoing
The task force is made of officers from several West Tennessee law enforcement agencies.
