Fugitive from Tennessee prison caught

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities in Nashville have recaptured a state prison inmate who escaped by climbing over a fence.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said 25-year-old Roderickus "Rico" Jefferson escaped from the Charles Bass Correctional Complex on Tuesday night.

Jefferson was sentenced to a life prison term on a murder conviction in the 2005 shooting death of Antonio Markee Greer.

Authorities captured Jefferson shortly after 4 a.m. CST Wednesday at a glass plant not far from the prison.

Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron said an employee of the plant had reported a stranger near the rear of the building.
