NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Phil Bredesen is scheduled to give his budget presentation to Tennessee lawmakers on March 23.
The Democratic governor had postponed laying out his spending plan until the full details of the federal stimulus package became clear.
Bredesen had originally planned for about $900 million in cuts for the budget year that begins on July 1. The governor has said the stimulus money will defray some of the deepest cuts.
Officials expect $4.5 billion in federal stimulus money to be directed to Tennessee over the next two years.
