LAFAYETTE, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities in Middle Tennessee say three people have died in a shooting in Macon County.
WSMV-TV in Nashville reports the shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. at a home about five miles from Lafayette in the Frog Pond community. The location is about 65 miles northeast of Nashville. The station says the sheriff's department received a call from a person who witnessed the shooting.
Authorities found two people dead of multiple gunshot wounds, while a third person was pronounced dead at a Hendersonville hospital.
The station reported a person of interest was arrested in Sumner County, but officials there referred calls to Macon County officials.
The victims' names haven't been released. The Macon County sheriff didn't immediately return a phone message left by The Associated Press.
