JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- An apartment building in Jackson has burned, displacing a half-dozen families.

According to the Jackson Sun, the blaze broke out early Thursday at Brookfield Apartments.

There were no reported injuries, but the building, which contained eight apartments, was destroyed.

The Red Cross moved one family to a hotel and the other five families found places to stay.

Jackson Fire Department Capt. Lamar Childress said firefighters found the apartment where the fire began, but the cause is still under investigation.
