Tennessee soldier dies in combat

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A soldier from middle Tennessee has died in combat in Afghanistan.

The defense department says specialist Russell Hercules, Jr., of Murfreesboro, died Thursday when insurgents attacked his unit in Wardak Province.

Specialist Hercules was with the 101st out of Fort Campbell, 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 159th Combat Brigade.

He was 22 years old.

    I'm so sorry to hear about your son, husband? father? My son is in the same place, i pray for our boys everyday, this is my greatest fear. Bless the family of this great young man, he is truly one of our hero's
