MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) -- Officials at the University of Tennessee at Martin say campus safety has been enhanced by a $3.2 million lighting project.
Some 665 new light fixtures were installed to replace 345 old ones. New lighting will cover many previously unlit areas on the periphery of the northwest Tennessee campus, including the outdoor fitness trail.
Spokesmen said the new lamps are 75 percent more energy efficient. The old ones were about 42 years old.
