Shelters open for those without power

HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Utility company employees in Hawkins County believe it could be two or three days before power is restored to some hard-hit areas.

Emergency Management Director Gary Murrell says a shelter is open at the National Guard Armory in Rogersville and the American Red Cross set up a shelter at the Carters Valley Ruritan Club on Carters Valley Road.

If you are in need of a shelter, you are urged to contact Hawkins County Central Dispatch at
(423) 272-7121
(423) 235-0189
(423) 357-7181
or, call 911

Murrell asks that you don't wait too late to call as conditions may get worse.
