JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- Jackson Police have arrested a seventh suspect in the beating death of a man whose body was found lying on a road.
According to The Jackson Sun, police arrested 29-year-old Demarcus Deon Crawford of Jackson on Tuesday. Crawford is charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 5 beating death of Antwan Brooks.
Charges against an eighth suspect were dropped because of a lack of evidence against him.
All seven of those indicted and arrested were still held without bond Wednesday afternoon at the Madison County Jail, where there was no record of attorneys for them.
Police Lt. Tyreece Miller said more arrests could be made in Brooks' death.
