TBI adds escapee to 10 Most Wanted List

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says it added a 26-year-old prison escapee to its Top Ten Most Wanted fugitive list after he abducted a woman and stole her car.

The TBI says in a news release that Stephen Allen Hester was discovered missing from the South Central Correctional Center Annex in Clifton during a head count Saturday night at 9:30.

The TBI says Hester, who was serving eight years for an aggravated robbery in Memphis, went to a market nearby the prison, abducted a woman and stole her car.

The TBI says Hester let the woman go in Savannah, but fled in the car, a 2005 silver Chevy Malibu.

Officials described Hester as a white with brown hair and blue eyes, and tatoos on both arms and right calf. They said Hester's last known address was in Hartwell, Ga.
