Doctors find signs of abuse in 3-year-old boy's death

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Police investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy in Chattanooga say doctors found signs of abuse and the boy's mother has been interviewed.

Police say the investigation is pending the outcome of a medical examiner's report.

The child was brought in to a Chattanooga hospital early Saturday by the father's girlfriend on a report that he was having breathing problems.

Police statements say the boy was deceased and doctors found signs of abuse.
