MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Four men have been charged with robbing and pistol-whipping two undercover Memphis police officers.
Dretel Ferguson, 18, Kenneth Coble, 20, and Octavious McMullen, 19, were charged with two counts of especially aggravated robbery. They were being held in the Shelby County jail on $400,000 bonds pending a video arraignment Monday morning.
Charles Valentine, 22, was charged with two counts of facilitating especially aggravated robbery and with being a convicted felon in possession of a hand gun.
Memphis Police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph told The Memphis Commercial Appeal that the officers were attacked inside their car after a drug buy gone bad Friday. The two injured Organized Crime Unit officers were taken to Methodist North Hospital with lacerations and bruises.
