Attempted murder case could go to adult court

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- The prosecutor in Madison County is trying to move charges against a 16-year-old boy to adult court.

At a hearing on Thursday, Juvenile Court Judge Christy Little noted a youth the suspect is accused of shooting was struck in the neck by one of six bullets that lodged in his body Sunday. The Jackson Sun reported that Little said the teen was still in critical condition at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

The victim is also 16 and police said both the youth who was shot and the one arrested in the shooting know each other.

A 22-year-old man was slightly wounded in the shooting, which occurred outside an apartment complex.
