Black Film Festival under way in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The International Black Film Festival is under way in Nashville.

The festival, established in 2006, showcases the work of emerging independent filmmakers, as well as actors, composers, screenwriters, directors and other film industry professionals.

One of the main features this year is a documentary titled "Dark Girls."

Produced and directed by actor/director Bill Duke, the documentary chronicles the lives of dark-skinned women and how people view the color of their skin.

The movie will be shown Saturday at 7 p.m. The festival ends Sunday.
