MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- The Rutherford County property assessor is facing allegations of sexual harassment, retaliatory firings, cheating on a test and artificially inflating home appraisals.
WSMV-TV reports that five women with a combined total of 70 years of experience in the assessor's office have recently leveled charges against Bill Boner. Each of them either was fired, resigned or retired since Boner took office three years ago.
Two of the employees have filed federal Equal Employment Opportunity complaints against Boner.
One of those is Cathy Dumm, who said the sexual harassment she experienced included Boner rubbing his crotch against her arm while she was seated at her desk.
After Dumm and a co-worker complained to human resources, they were fired.
Boner told the station the allegations are untrue.
