MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A 14-year-old boy charged with intentionally setting a house fire that killed his mother is scheduled to appear before a judge.
Shelby County juvenile court officials say the teen is scheduled to have a detention hearing Tuesday afternoon.
The teen was charged with first-degree murder and aggravated arson after a fire that killed his mother on Friday.
Investigators say they questioned the teen after the fire at a home outside Memphis. The Shelby County Sheriff's Office say he acknowledged setting the fire after an earlier disagreement with his mother.
The sheriff's office did not identify the teen.
Officials say the teen missed a court appearance on Monday because he was in the hospital.
