Boy, 3, subject of Memphis missing person search

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The search is on for a 3-year-old Memphis boy who was missing from his home when his father awakened from a nap.

The Memphis Police Department said Maurice Brown Jr. is a black child with a medium complexion, a low hair cut and was last seen wearing a blue Batman shirt and blue jeans.

Police said the boy's father told them he fell asleep and woke up Sunday at around 10:30 p.m. to discover Maurice was missing.

Police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said authorities were using a helicopter and K-9 units to search for the boy.

Information should be phoned to the missing person number at (901) 636-4479.
