Burned body of woman found at Tims Ford Lake

WINCHESTER, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities in Franklin County say a passing motorist has found a partially burned human body.

WSMV-TV in Nashville reported the driver saw what at first appeared to be a grass fire along a road near the Awalt Bridge at Tims Ford Lake around 1:15 a.m. Monday.

Authorities said the body is that of a white woman who was probably between 18 and 25 years old. She had dark hair and a tattoo of stars on the back of her neck and another tattoo atop her right foot.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are handling the investigation. Tips can be telephoned to 800-TBI-FIND.
