MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis police say someone's suspicion led to the arrest of three men in copper thefts.
A caller told police that men were walking into and out of the woods near the caller's home on Tuesday, carrying things. Responding officers found a large amount of copper tubing stashed in the woods at about the same time a call about a prowler came from someone else in the neighborhood.
In that case, police caught the three suspects coming out a back door with tools and copper tubing in their hands.
Officers arrested Clarence Woods, Dwayne Carr and Gary Dowery, charging them all with property crimes and charging Woods with assault and resisting because he fought officers.
