CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- Some Chattanooga area residents may not be able to make 911 calls from their cell phones because of a malfunction with a Verizon cell tower.
The Hamilton County communications center says the outage affects parts of Red Bank, Mountain Creek Road and Signal Mountain. Residents of these areas may have to find a land line in order to call 911.
Verizon personnel are working on the issue but have not said how soon they expect the tower to be functioning again.
