NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Nearly 200 Tennessee National Guard soldiers are beginning a deployment that will take them to Kuwait.

The members of the 1-181st Field Artillery in Chattanooga leave from the local armory in the city on Thursday morning for training at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. Tennessee military officials said the soldiers will take specialized training for about a month and then be sent overseas on a one-year deployment.

This will be the second overseas deployment for the unit. The 1-181st deployed to Iraq in 2007.
