Chattanooga awarded cycling events for 2013-2015; Lookout Mountain to be used

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- The USA Cycling Professional Road and Time Trial National Championships have been awarded to Chattanooga for 2013-2015.

USA Cycling also announced Thursday that a Women's Professional Road Race and Time Trial National Championship has been created and will be held in Chattanooga to coincide with the men's event.

Specific courses will be developed though the road race route will feature a climb on Lookout Mountain.

Volkswagen of America, Inc., which has a plant in Chattanooga, will be title sponsor of the event.
