CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Chattanooga doctor faces multiple federal charges following his arrest on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Dept. of Justice.
Ihsaan al-Amin, 61, was released on bond, pending his trial, which is set for August. He has also agreed to stop practicing medicine during his release.
"We are targeting and prosecuting the sources of illegal prescription pill distribution in our district," said U.S. Attorney Bill Killian.
Al-Amin was charged with illegal distribution of controlled substances, possession of a firearm in relation to commission of drug trafficking, money laundering, and tax evasion.
