Clarksville soldier among trio killed in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON (WVLT) -- A 22 year-old Clarksville man was among the three soldiers killed in the Ghazni province, Afghanistan on Monday, the Dept. of Defense announced.

Sgt. Jacob Schwallie, Spc. Chase S. Marta, of Chico Calif., and Pfc. Dustin Gross, of Jeffersonville, Ky, were killed when enemy forces attacked their unit with an improvised explosive device.

They were all members of the 3rd Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
