CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) -- A Cleveland Police Department officer has been killed in a car crash.
WRCB-TV (http://bit.ly/LlogC0 ) in Chattanooga reported 34-year-old Officer Justin Maples was patrolling Sunday night when his cruiser crashed into a utility pole.
Police said Maples' police vehicle was the only car involved in the crash, which occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Maples was pronounced dead at 10:21 p.m. at Skyridge Medical Center.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
