TDOT: Construction on Henley Street will resume tomorrow

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- TDOT says all construction projects by Britton Bridge, LLC will start again tomorrow, including work on the Henley Street bridge.

TDOT and TOSHA finished their safety reviews Wednesday and cleared for construction crews to get back to work. This also includes the project on State Route 33 in Union County.

On May 25, TDOT suspended all construction on Britton Bridge LLC projects across the state of Tennessee after a chunk of concrete fell off a support beam and hit Solin Estrada Jiminez in the head the day before.

It wasn't TOSHA's first time at the Henley Bridge construction site. They launched an investigation in January when 33-year-old John Womac died. TOSHA cited Britton Bridge for inadequate training and fined them almost $17,000.

No word yet on fines from this investigation.
