MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Drivers in Memphis will be making way for an ancient Egyptian ruler, or at least, an image of him.

A 25-foot-tall statue of Ramesses II will be moved through the city Monday, from The Pyramid to the University of Memphis. According to The Commercial Appeal, the job will take most of the day.

The replica of the famous statue of Ramesses is made of fiberglass, but it still weighs 5,000 pounds. The original was displayed in Memphis during a 1987 exhibit called Ramesses the Great.

After the local government sold The Pyramid to Bass Pro Shops, Ramesses had to go. The Memphis City Council voted to send him to the university, where the statue will be placed between the theater and music buildings.
