DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Dyer County people will answer in court to charges that they changed the amounts on checks issued to them.
The State Gazette reported 28-year-old Tommy Ray Rogers of the Lenox community and 31-year-old Heather Cruz of Dyersburg were indicted on charges of theft over $10,000.
Prosecutors said the couple changed the amounts on checks written to them by the TY Farming Company. Investigators said the amounts of about 20 checks were inflated by $600-$700 each. The total theft was more than $11,300.
Rogers and Cruz are free on $10,000 bond each and are scheduled to appear in court March 5.
