Crop duster crashes in Mount Hill, killing pilot

MINOR HILL, Tenn. (AP) -- A crop duster has crashed onto state Route 11 in Minor Hill, killing the pilot and closing down the road.

Department of Safety spokeswoman Dalya Qualls said in an email that state troopers were among the first responders to the crash, which happened around 8:10 Tuesday morning about 15 miles southwest of Pulaski.

Qualls said the plane appears to have had only a single occupant.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.

An FAA spokeswoman said the plane was destroyed in the crash.
