DNJ editor moving to MTSU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- The editor of a Tennessee daily newspaper is moving to a university post.

The Daily News Journal of Murfreesboro reported Thursday that its executive editor, Jimmy Hart, is becoming director of News and Media Relations at Middle Tennessee State University.

During Hart's six years at the DNJ, the newspaper website visits have increased from 750,000 page views per month in 2007 to 3 million monthly page views currently.

Andrew Oppmann, MTSU's associate vice president for marketing and communications, said the university is pleased to have Hart join the school because of his strong media credentials and a deep understanding of the Middle Tennessee area and university.

Hart succeeds Tom Tozer, who retired from MTSU in January.
