NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Nashville construction workers have filed a federal lawsuit against a day labor company, claiming they weren't fairly paid.

According to The Tennessean, Trojan Labor hires workers -- some from homeless shelters -- for construction projects that have included the new Music City Center.

The workers claim the company made them to wait each day after filling out paperwork -- time they were not paid for -- before going to jobsites, and also made them buy their own required safety equipment.

Michael Dooley and Johnny Taylor are seeking unspecified wages. The lawsuit filed Tuesday is a collective action, meaning other workers could join in the complaint.

Company owner Jolene Dressel called the court filing "a nuisance lawsuit that is utterly without merit."
