Deputy jailer fatally shot at his eastern Ky. home

SALYERSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Magoffin County deputy jailer has been shot and killed in his home.

WYMT-TV in Hazard reported sheriff's deputies found 45-year-old Albert Bloomfield shot in the chest when they arrived Sunday afternoon at Bloomfield's home just outside of Salyersville.

Deputies arrested 31-year-old Jonathan Watkins, who they said lived at Bloomfield's home. Watkins is charged with murder of a police officer.

Sheriff Carson Montgomery said Watkins was found inside the home and the motive for the shooting wasn't immediately determined.

Watkins was held at the Big Sandy Detention Center awaiting arraignment.
