EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (AP) -- The East Ridge Animal Shelter is offering free pet adoptions.
Shelter director Carl Zagona says contributions have allowed the shelter to waive the usual $85 fee that covers the cost of spaying or neutering, a health check and a rabies vaccination. Free adoptions will continue until the special funding runs out.
Dogs and cats are held for 72 hours for owners to claim them and then are available for adoption.
Shelter hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday. The shelter is closed weekends.
Photos of the available animals can be found by typing in an East Ridge search at www.petfinder.com .
