KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville police busted a trio of suspected drug dealers Monday night. Gordon Davis, Jr., Michael Thomas, and Amber Eblen are charged with operating a crack house in a school zone.

"It's very dangerous to have those people like that around," said a woman too afraid to reveal her identity. She told Local 8 News she noticed "a lot of activity back and forth and people going in and out."

Police say the action happened in apartment 59 in the 36-hundred block of Sevierville Pike in South Knoxville. "We found not only cocaine, but marijuana and two guns inside," said KPD spokesman Darell DeBusk.

"It's kind of scary. We moved from a bad neighborhood and thought we were moving into nice place," said Daniel Young. He lives with his wife and six-year-old son four doors down from the suspected crack house. "I'm not going to take a chance of losing my son over something somebody else is doing," Young said.

The unidentified woman says she's keeping her children close by. "Yesterday they wanted to go out but I said no."

By state law drug free school zones extend a thousand feet around campus. "It enhances the penalty because the illegal activity is occurring within a thousand feet of a school," said DeBusk. Which means Davis and Thomas won't be eligible for probation if convicted in this case.
