MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP/WVLT) -- Police said the driver of a dump truck was killed when the vehicle ran over an embankment at the Hoover Rock Quarry in Rutherford County.
Tennessee Highway Patrol spokeswoman Jennifer Donnals told The Daily News Journal the truck fell approximately 60-80 feet down the embankment and landed on its roof on Saturday.
Donnals said the name of the driver was not yet made public while family members were notified. Donnals also said they did not know what made the truck go over the embankment.
Rutherford County Sherrif's Office spokeswoman Lisa Marchesoni said the area where the truck fell was "remote and rough" and reports indicated emergency responders could only reach the area on foot.
