Dyersburg gets federal trail grant

DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- Dyersburg will extend walking and biking trails with a $97,000 federal grant.

The State Gazette reported the funds come from the Recreation Trails Program under the Federal Highway Administration.

The money will be used to improve he Downtown River Park and run trails along Reagan Levee. The project is part of a larger plan to circle the community with a trail system.

The group Pioneering Health Communities has a master plan to provide healthy transportation options to residents of Dyer County.
