JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- East Tennessee State University is celebrating the grand re-opening of its Reece Museum with a Community Day.
The free, family-friendly event includes art demonstrations, storytelling and live bluegrass.
Community Day is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum, which is attached to the university's Center for Appalachian Studies.
Other re-opening events include a behind-the-scenes preview on Friday of the exhibit "Treasures of the Reece 2013: Artifacts from the New World" and a discussion on Melungeon identity in Southern Appalachia on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
