KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) -- Eastman Chemical Co. has received awards from the American Chemical Council for the 19th straight year.
The Kingsport, Tenn., company was honored with eight awards for implementing energy efficient improvements in 2011.
Jim Rogers, chairman and CEO, said reducing greenhouse gas emissions through improved energy efficiency is a key part of Eastman's vision of being a sustainable chemical company.
Eastman said its winning projects save 337,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
The company employs some 10,000 workers around the world.
